MONOCHROME: Boats big and small at rest

This is the scene at the docks behind the Tampa Waterside Marriott Hotel located on the Garrison Channel. Harbour Island is just across the water.

  1. Looks like you still have fine weather, we have storms, rain and heavy flooding in some areas. Global warming.

  2. This is an excellent photo for the reflection and the black and white. I think I should try a black and white reflection.

Thanks for your very nice comments about my reflection.

  5. This is a very nice b+w marina scene. I really like the refection you captured . . . it adds so much interest to the picture. Thanks for the Carlton Ward link . . . wow . . . the silhouette of the cowboys & horses just blew me away. His aerial shots are gorgeous and I wonder if he too is on horseback to capture some of the images. Thanks so much for sharing.

  6. I hope the dock fees they pay justify all this lazing about!

  7. Getting tired of all those Florida pastels, eh? This is very nice, Frank. What makes the photo for me, though, is the first boat and its incredible reflection! Sharp and clear. Great b&w!

By the way it's been raining all day today, which is fine, 'cause we need it, but I was wondering if you sent the rain our way?

  8. @ John
    and
    @ Jacob -

I am SO sorry for your nasty wet weather. But I didn't even once wish for sunshine today. Although I have hoped at times for storms to go somewhere else, we just had a few broken clouds until almost dark and now it's sprinkling. So, Jacob, Ocala gets some much need rain. And I guess you have the lower temperatures too? It's been much nicer out.

  9. This is a great shot. It's perfect in black and white. And the crispness of the reflection is amazing. Kathy

  10. I'd take either of those boats! Wish I were in Florida right now instead of in the midst of rainstorms here! :D
