Your blow-up raft awaits you

Why in this watercolor scene is a cheap, plastic raft draped so intrusively in the rowboat. Perhaps the owner had little faith that his craft would make its last voyage so the raft was his insurance. Makes sense to me.

  1. That's a sweet image, evokes memories of lazy days and cold drinks.

  2. The paint effect of the boat and the water rushes almost have a water-colour painting effect, very soft.

  3. Cheap plastic rafts are the best way to sleep on the water. As long as it doesn't drift away with you on it, of course. ;)

I think this is the first time I've seen so much grass in the water! To me this looks so odd. Very pretty, but still odd.

  4. Interesting photo, Frank...I like the muted colors. But ye olde boat ain't gonna go far, methinks, so the raft is a lifesaver, prob'ly!

    Have a great day!

  5. @ Jacob - Your weather gives me hope that a cool front may finally reach us. Out walking the Peke last night I thought I felt lower humidity but the heat may have affected my brain. It's NOVEMBER and the AC is running like crazy.

  6. I am with you. If it doesn't cost much and might save your life or the life of someone else then use it or do it or whatever. Thanks for visiting the newest blog of mine, our26letters.

I have been involved in typography, advertising art and design and illustration for ages and designed so much stuff in print as a kind of side job but it was a way to make some extra money.

I know most people do not have a clue about layout and design and it is not easy to come up with something halfway decent on a blog but some of the old rules can still apply.

Ozwald Bruce Cooper was the engine that drove his Coopers Black for years and my mentor, Ray DaBoll worked with him in Chicago. I have one or two letters online so far but more to come.
