Check out other great WEEKEND REFLECTIONS #7 HERE (that James is making possible through his blog, Newtown Daily Photo. - You must see New Hope, Pennsylvania in his reflections for this week.)

  1. Great reflection Frank. I really like water reflections. The ripples in the water makes a cool effect.

  2. Nicely done, Frank. And it led me to do some reflecting on the name, "Mother Courage." But I came to no conclusions.

  4. The boat's name; Mother Courage. Brecht used this as the title of one of his works, it comes from the 1670 story by Johann Grimmelshausen of "The Life of Courage; the notorious Thief, Whore and Vagabond". I wonder if the boat owner knows that? Well, I just thought I'd mention it.

  6. Nice shot! We have an awful lot of boats tied up here these days. They never seem to leave the docks. A sign of the times.

  8. Hi Frank thanks for your comment. I absolutely love coffee. In Europe indeed you find marvelous cafe's from time to time. But I must say a cold drink in your part of the world must be a good experience as well. We are now in a period of rain, cold, darkness wind and 'water cold' weather. brrr

  9. @ John - I do imagine the owner knows it's derivation. It is not a common name or expression here so its tie to Brecht and the 1670 story "The Life of Courage" makes lots of sense. Thank you for the connection...I wondered about the name.

@ MaCoBra - Although a hurricane is a few hundred miles to our west in the Gulf of Mexico and moving toward northern Florida, the weather here is just a bit overcast but still warm. It would definitely feel like the middle of summer to you. (The cold brews are very tasty here right now...my favorite is still a dark, frothy Guiness.)
